Our Vision
To build world-class and sustainable national capability for the development, manufacture, and commercialisation of RNA technologies in New Zealand.
Our Mission
To build RNA technology capability for New Zealand through domestic and international collaboration to
- Create RNA products that will enable better outcomes for our people, animals and plants
- Contribute towards resiliency and enhanced pandemic preparedness in New Zealand and in the Pacific
- Grow a collaborative and internationally connected knowledge-intensive industry that provides benefit to New Zealand
- Ensure an enabling and innovative environment by growing proactive relationships with Government, industry and Treaty Partners
- Build research, industry and commercial expertise, including in Māori and Pacific peoples
In line with the Vision and Mission statements, we have developed an Outcomes Framework to guide our progress. By the end of the seven-year funding allocation, the Platform will operate using cutting-edge methodologies and state-of-the-art equipment, with significant discoveries and advancements readily accessible to end-users.

Platform Structure
Pillars
The Platform will be shaped by seven Pillars;

- Clinical Testing
While all Pillars are essential to and required for a fully functional Platform, some of the Pillars will be initially more important than others in terms of delivering to the Platform vision and outcomes. In particular, as the Vision of the Platform is to build world class capability for the development and manufacture of RNA, we need to be able to concentrate our efforts such that one appropriately resourced laboratory is responsible for consistently producing high quality RNA that can then be used by disease-indication projects and external users.
